Alexander Lasky

Alex began his career in the film industry when he co-founded The Business, an independent film production company. The company represented some of the industry’s premier talent, including Larry Clark and Gus Van Sant, for music videos and commercials. During this time, Alex also pursued his own creative projects by producing four feature films, some of which went on to win awards on the festival circuit prior to distribution.

In 1999 Alex focused on creating content in the newly developing video online/VOD world. Alex co-founded and became Creative Director of bthere.TV, a virtual cable channel online that produced and broadcast raw documentary portraits of celebrities including Billy Bob Thorton, Puffy, Carmen Elektra, Jamie Fox, and Paris Hilton.

Bthere also built shows around behind-the-scenes footage of major concerts and events, such as VH1s Fashion Awards and the Miss Universe Pageant. Under Alex’s guidance and creative vision, bthere struck distribution deals with over 1500 portals and web sites including MSN, Yahoo, Excite, Windowsmedia, Clearchannel, Maxim, and Seventeen online. bthere TV grew into an on-demand cable channel on Time Warner, Comcast, and Cox Cable. Alex and his partner sold bthere TV to UGO Networks in 2004.

In 2005 laskyMEDIA, a creative agency, was created, specializing in web and television development, producing original content for the converging TV and web markets, branded entertainment, edutainment as well as web strategy consulting. Alex went on to create MAN and WIFE TV with, Charlie Stettler and Isaac and Shanda Freeman which was one of the first ever cross over shows (Internet to MTV on Air) that enjoys a 7 million-member strong web fan base. His hobbies include Tennis, Memetics, NLP, and cooking!
